  • What's the black stuff...?

What's the waxy black stuff that makes the socket part of the ball and socket joint on the transfer lever ball shaped? And where can I get some more of it?

I took the transfer lever apart and most of it just flaked away!

    Thanks in advance!

I guess that would explain its flakiness. Thanks.

Really? Even though it's a lot thicker than copper grease?

if your gearstick gets hot enough to burn off coppaslip you'll need a new gearbox and i think the plastic bush on the bottom would be long gone.

check the working temp of coppaslip - its over 1000 degrees

its a high temp anti sieze compound

still does the same thing - stops the stick siezing up in the bush
