A 3.0L should not suffer from the same overheating / head problems as a 2.4L although they will overheat if towing in warm/hot conditions due to the ATF oil cooler in the bottom of the radiator blocking off the water outlet pipe quite considerably.
If you are thinking about towing with the 3.0L, suggest you fit an auxiliary ATF oil cooler of at least 13 rows before the original cooler. That way the ATF fluid will get cooled before it gets to the main cooler and should help in keeping excess heat out of the main rad as well.

Erm, surely a 3.0L manual won't have an ATF oil cooler, thus is less likely to overheat ?
I have a manual, and it has not overheated yet, though i don't do any towing. I do recall getting stuck in a 5 hour jam on the M5 last year (with family and tons of stuff), when the temp hit 37C (close to 100F), and didn't overheat then. Quite a good test...

Ferrari's original colour was yellow not red . People wanted the red more and so everyone assumed that was the colour for a Ferrari .
I agree that red is best , me Lotus is red .
