Isn't that just the truck going in to gear?

Do you use the parking brake?

    Is the propshaft properly greased?

im guessing when it goes into gear its not supposed to be that harsh? i dont use the parking brake as its pants, ive greased up all joints props ect as thats what i thought it was but its still doing it, its best described as this from park i select drive and as i do it feels like im being hit from behind, not totally smashed but bumped with some force,it is a old truck but it just dosent seem right to me any help would be really good thanks

If the truck is on the parking pawl and you stick it in gear, it'll jolt.

Fix the parking brake. Put the parking brake on before you select Park, then (with the parking brake still on) see if it still jolts when you put the truck in gear.
