Clean Ace??? What is it?

Hi guys, i have an import with a thing called Clean Ace on the roof. Can anybody tell me what it is and what it does? It makes a wee hissing sound like an AC. I took the cover off today and there was some kind of filter in there that was very dirty think it needs to be changed anybody know were to get one?

Also is it worth while having it or should i just cut the wire and let it be? Is it doing anything at all?

It's an air purifier, it switches on automatically when it senses cigarette smoke for example.
They were mainly fitted to Surfs bound for the Middle Eastern markets.
