  • Rear Window Fix-Up

Well, when Keith got my old Surf home we discovered that the tailgate window was working very slowly and moving unevenly. So after ripping off the covers we saw that the glass holders were almost rusted through. So off we went to the breakers yard and had a root around. We took the window holders out of an old starlet and the little nylon wheels. Got home and set about fixing it up. After a bit of cutting and grinding we got it to suit. Biggest hassle was sliding the rubber and metal holders onto the glass. Thank God for WD40... Now the window is solid as a rock and moves very freely and evenly. While we were in there we covered all the movin parts in grease and sprayed a load of WD40 on all the bits.

    Better than new now

Silicon spray is the best thing for getting rubber things onto other things!! Ooer missis!!
Its also a good lube for sticky window rubbers.
