    Just did mine today.

    1. Be careful with the seal I was careful with mine but it still became magically longer and impossible to put back in.

    2. I threw 30ml of 7000 in the middle figuring that centrifugal force will send it out to where it'll pass through the holes.

    3. I washed in one of those pro fountain things and rinsed with petrol, but beware of petrol touching the seal I guess that's what expanded mine.

The 'O'-Ring will generally have 'expanded' and be too long to get back in. Just cut it to length and rejoin it with a drop of 'Super Glue' and reinstall it. It'll be fine.

Yes I did, plus a drop of sealant on the 'repair'.

Did I screw up by just putting the thirty mm in the middle, as I said after seeing how it worked I thought centrifugal will send it to the valves that control it. Plus it was all over the place when I opened it.

I will be keeping an eye on it once hot to check it's locking.

It will never 'lock' it will always lag a bit, it should lag less as the engine warms up.
