I took my 92 2.4 surf to the garage yesterday to have a fuel leak fixed. Chap phoned me up last night saying that he hadn't been able to fix the leak but also that now my truck wont start. All he keeps saying is that everyone he talks to says it needs a new pump but can't explain why it wont start. He did say that he had it running for 10 - 15 mins and while he had his hand behind the pump it cut out.

I saw him today and he is saying that it needs a new pump as now he has touched it it is broken and will not work anymore.

Can anyone help is this really the case

What's not working? no fuel? fault codes?

Hi Tony

Thanks for the reply. He said the fault code was 58 but as far as we could see with the information on here that there is no 58 so he thinks it is 5 and 8. Took him a list of the fault codes and a schematic for the fuel pump. also the picture there is on one of the threads on here.

There is some fuel getting through to the injectors but not enough. He is sending my truck to Sleaford 4x4 on Monday to see if they can fix her.
