help please back window open

can any one tell me how to free back window on 3.0 td auto
it is open and will not come up have power going to motor
motor is over heating

They fail quite a lot apparently,(mechanism), go on the general fora and ask Stormforce if he has a replacement, he deals spare parts on here, failing that a new one from milners offroad or roughtrax, google them, next day delivery. H

have two days to fiddle with it, someone told me to look
behind left rear iner panel for a switch unit,???
if not take the motor off if no joy [garage]
will let you know.

would suggest if motor overheating its either the motor or the window mechanism is jammed.
Disconnect motor and push window up manually to see if mechanism is free, give it a good grease up.
Other toyota passenger (must be passenger) window motors fit such as the corolla, carina, supra and the hiace.

Mechanism not jamed, motor stuk in down mode
all switches tested and ok,stripped loom no broken wiers,
got window shut and disconected motor,
one thing left to try new relay behind pannel

everything cleaned & greased

Everything cleaned & greased,

relay in back making lots of clicking niose
unpluged everything i could find,
used a tin of w d 40 left to dry
reconected all plugs put cabbletie round
relay to hold plug tight
all working for the time being
just got to wait and cross fingers???

back window still opening by it's self

All worked for two days then opened by its self
car was parked at the time
got to be relay ???

hi might not help, but having a similar problem back window opened it's self or was it left open i dont know? anyway it worked fine then 2-3 days later opened the window but could not close it again. beeping and showing as open on the dash even when I have powered the motor directly to close it.

Now it goes down fine on key and switch, but all I get is beeps when I try to close

I tried all the fixes new relays, tested every switch, stripped and clean latches traced evey wire and nothing all seem to be ok. but still beeping when trying to close.

Now i have found that if i turn on my side lights yes side lights on the two other relays on the rear window control board click the dash warning goes out and the window works without a hitch up and down from key and switch.

sorry if doent help you much but its driving me round the bend.

but if anyone can shed any light my way that would be great.

I'm guessing a short from the number plate light to the window control some where or the 2 relays

Turned out to be the loom plugs down in the wing below the rear window control box.

window will go down,and up if you reverse wiers to motor
power to motor stuk on
going to car sparks next week could be plug on relay
works if you give it a wiggle, i give up

After all the time and trouble took car in to auto electrical
specialists, thay found the problem in no time at all but
had to take tail board off to repair broken wires in loom
yes just broken wires not sure witch somewhare between relay and window motor

i know i said no broken wires but wearever they wear i did not
find them,
plus takeing the tailgate off without knowing is a bit mutch,
I did all i could and then let the specialists have a go
