  • Repairing Pinhole leaks on radiator

Bought my 4Runner from Cornwall, and on the long drive back (200 miles) my lovely clean 4Runner had developed some small holes in the top part of the radiator (see pic). Ive heard various ways of fixing this. Some have said to solder it up, but will that work on it, as its plastic? Others have mentioned the Ground pepper, or Egg method, but these all sound a bit crazy, and temporary.

is there a DIY way of repairing, or should i just give in and take it to a garage?

I wouldn't risk it tbh - I'd just put a new one in.

It's not plastic, it's very thin brass.

Wire-brush the paint off all alone the seam, clean and de-grease it, apply some plumber's flux and melt some plumber's solder along the seam with a blow lamp.

I did this to my rad and it lasted for about eleven months until I bought a new one.
