stuck in fourwheel drive

im in fourwheel drive and cannot get it out.this is a 3.0 ssrg 1998.when in fourwheeel drive dash flashes,you know the four wheel display.this is normaly difficult to get out of but today just can,t get it out .any advice anybody before i pull the gear lever out!

If its flashing I doubt its in 4WD. When in 4WD all the greens ( wheels) should go solid.

When it's flashing, the actuator on the transfercase is about to engage/disengage 4WD.

It won't engage/disengage if your foot is on the gas, you need to lift off and then re-apply.

Just keep driving around until it does.
