  • Recommend me an engine stand

I'm looking for recommendations for a good quality, adjustable, engine/gearbox stand.

I'm after make and model details from folk who have actually used them, I don't want eBay or Machine Mart links (I can do that bit myself).

    Thanks

i ended up making my own after the high quality machine mart one folded itself in half. its fairly easy to do - 2"sq 1/8wall box section for the frame and a sheet of 8mm plate with the holes or slots done on the plasma - its served me well and held up a jag v12 - i didnt have an option at the time when i saw the cost of a decent one.
its amazing what you can do in a shed when youre skint hehehehehe.

forgot to say the plates slotted in the same way as a lathe face plate - then you can use t-bolts to get a hold of almost anything. t-bolt sets are cheap and i just have a selection of bolts to use in the t-blocks. it might be a way of saving you money and getting something that works.

Thanks for the info Gary. I don't have the wherewithal to build one myself, and even if I did, I need the one I get to be collapsible and something I can sell when I'm done with it. Money isn't a massive issue.

I have a shortlist, hopefully someone can recommend one that's on my list!

And I'm not saying what my list is, it'll only sway folk...
