Aircon removal?

Hi,

Ive never used the aircon and never will, can i remove all the aircon kit in the engine bay without problems? Just i saw the engine management light for reading faults depended if the aircon was switched on or off so didnt want to remove it all and find somehow its linked to the ecu.

took mine off a second gen with no problems and saved roughly 3stone 3lbs
