Should there be fluid under the dust caps on wheel cylinders?
H reg 2.4TD surf, Brakes havn't been great for a while so today I was checking over the rear brakes, looked under the rubber cap bit on one wheel cylinder and loads of brake fluid came out, I figured they should be sealed more than just by what seems to be the dust cap and so figuring I would do it properly I ordered two new cylinders but now having looked at the other side it seems there is fluid under all 4 caps, It seems unlikely to me all would have gone, I thought I was being cautious changing both.
If there shouldn't be fluid then I havn't just wasted 30quid and my brakes should be loads better after fixing 4 leaks
Many thanks in advance for any assistance
Darren
