Hi everybody,
for about a year i have been the happy owner of a 1997 surf 3.0D. So far it has been a great car and never let me down, although i have been abusing it here in Botswana.
Since a couple of days i have a water leak inside the car, at the feet of the front passenger close to the center console of the car. As soon as the engine is running for a couple of minutes water drips down at my wife's feet. It doesn't smell really and looks clean.
I haven't really had the time to check it properly but tonight i did a couple of quick tests:
- when i run the engine with the heating and aircon off i have no leaks
- when i turn on the heating i have no leaks
Can it have something to do with the aircon? Can it for example be water condensating from the aircon? Is there a possibility of some leak like this in the dashboard? It's now hot and humid here in Botswana so that could explain the quantity of the water.
Any hints are welcome since i don't look forward to taking out most of the dashboard this weekend...
Greetings,
Koen
