  • The dreaded sinking brake pedal

I've had the Surf a month and the brakes have been fine up till now, so I don't see it being air in the system. The servo is working fine, so I suspect the master cylinder is kaput.

Where's the best place to get a replacement from? Milners?

    Hi galooph,

Have you checked the rear brake cylinders for leaks ?
(tell tale dribble of fluid down the back plate), and all
the brake pipes over the fuel tank and over the axel.
Under the n/s rear seat is a plate, remove this and you
will see the pipes over the tank.
    Hope this helps.

    Gman.
If it aint broke, keep goin' till it is.

      Hi Gman,

Haven't had chance to get underneath yet, but I will. The fluid level in the reservoir hasn't dropped at all, so I don't think it's a leak.

Thanks for the tip about the access plate under the rear seat!

Master cylinder seals need re-newing. Probably a dealer part.
