i was told something by whoever, then i asked another question hoping that i would get more reason or clarification as to why they have said that. thats called a disscusion.
what you have done is taken what im saying as someone who is telling that person that he is wrong and i must be an ######## because i can never be wrong.
if i was to say those exact words i wrote to him (or you) in person, with expression on my face, you would then know how what i said was meant to sound like. on a forum all you can read is text. you cant always tell how someone is trying to say something.
the fact that you seem to constantly take what i and a lot of other members say as arrogant or ignorant really sums up your character and personality.
you really must be a moody fcuk all the time to even think for a second that im (someone you dont know) trying to be an arrogant and ignorant pr1ck in eveything i say.
you are clearly not a peoples person, an understanding person, or even a nice hearted guy.
im in a foul fcuking mood as you can tell from the news about my surf, so the last thing i want is some pathetic internet forum mr know it all C**T saying bullsh1t to me that i dont need to hear.
grow the fcuk up you sad little man! if you dont have anything nice to say..... #### off!!
anyways, mine is same as yours, year and engine,i had exaust gas in my water too, what mine did was....push the water out of rad as it was trying to use the cooling system as an exaust,to confirm it,i drained water, started with rad cap off,and you could see the exaust smoke coming out of the top of rad,u will 99%need a head, mine had cracked every valve and between cylinder 3 and 4,gwh paid 1050 for new head and gasket etc(his went at same time),i bought new head, built with new cam shaft valves etc,oem head gasket, water pump, stat, cap, cam belt, tensioner, pulley,my parts alone were 995,then my rad went once i cleaned it lol,so mine owes me 1200 ish plus fluids,ps matt, thought u had laid this shite all to rest, obvooiusly not i guess,oh well u carry on ,more u do this more the #### u look,so plz do(awaits matts reply )

Nope. I still find that trait, (which you possess in droves), irritating and ignorant.

as mudsurfer said,i too would ask lots of questions if i knew little about surf head problems as it's a big repair bill.which fyi is more irritating than you

A repair bill isn't irritating. It's a simple fact of vehicle ownership. One owns a vehicle, one expects to repair it as and when necessary. If a grands worth of repairs is irritating in your books, I'd suggest you sell the Surf and start using the bus, train or a taxi. Problem sorted.

I must admit I get pi$$ed off when I see questions being answered only to be followed by a 'should I' or a 'could it be' basicly saying that the advice given is flawed because it is not what is wanted to be heard!
Yes Matt is a stroppy, pedantic git (amongst others....me included) - but he also offers lots of advice, the majority good and well founded, I have missed a point at times and have learnt to read back through the thread to ensure I am not misstaken.
Whatever, your head has to come off, take it off look at the cracks which I am sure will be there then apologise to those you have bad mouthed.
I am sorry you did not want to hear that you have a large bill coming
I am sorry you do not apreciate Matts directness
I am sorry you cannot take and absorb information
AND I am sorry that you saw fit to issue a tirade of abuse
perhaps you might like to take the breakdown mans diagnosis - he must be brilliant , he has x-ray vision
in the end you lost water....investigate it
you didnt top it up - you knew little enough about motors that if there is air not water in the top of a rad it was wrong
your ignorance has cost - you learn by it and give respect to those who try to give you good free advice even if their manner stinks!
Dutch uncle mode offDid I mention I have a BLUE one

I agree with Goodcats questioning.. Sh1t has hit the fan an it could cost. Fatfires has the point with "take the head off an look as it has to come off anyway".
Mattf is (for better or worse! ) a bl**dy worthwhile contributor!!! For those who dont like his posts.. then delete his website from your favorites! He is normally almost always on the money an granted he can get a bit hostile at times towards certain people.. ahem! But he's ginger! So cut him some slack!!

Just grow up the lot of you - we've all questioned the advice handed out to us in the past, none of us has taken bad news at face value, as we'd much rather not hear it, and be told "there, there, it's not as bad as the nasty RAC man has just told you..." etc.
The guy has a problem with his Surf, he either didn't fully understand the points being made (semantics) or just didn't want to admit to the news that it's going to cost loads of money to put right. Another trait we've all been guilty of in the past, and not just on this forum - so for Christ's sake, can we try and help him with the bits he needs, and a cost that won't kill him, stop sniping at each other and act (ACT) like adults??? Please??
When it's your truck, and you're facing a big bill, you want a bit of support and understanding, which he has got to a degree, but despite being told 5 times that it's the head (not shortened mechanic slang for head gasket) he still wanted to check if there were any lower cost alternatives - can't blame him for trying?
Look, it's nearly Christmas so start being nice to each other - please...Too old to care, young enough to remember
