I wouold suggest that you might not need it crack testing, once the head is off you'll probably notice a crack between the valves on No4 cylinder and probably on No3 as well.

My head was bought from Stevo, I fit it myself. The head was top quality.
I would suggest a full flush out of the coolant system as well. if the antifreeze in the system was filled with toyota red it wont mix with the european stuff and tends to turn into gunge.

Do make sure you do as suggested above too. If it is red coolant in there, adding any other colour of anti-freeze will lead to your coolant systems contents resembling a Lava lamp.

i actually have no idea! lol
matey boy was meant to come over this morning and do it but ive been at work all day and forgot to ring him to see if he had done it. he started yesterday but then left soon after because he forgot his pain killers! he has an abbsess on his tooth and couldnt work with the pain of no pain killers lol.
ive now got a brand spanking new golf estate as a hire car for a week. didnt like it at first but its growing on me.
good gear box on it. very fancy. has 7 gears! lol

A cheap eBay head( roughly half the cost of a stevo job) will last a matter of months.
If you do replace cheaply, you will be doing the job again very soon.
