Torsion bar replacement

as i'm about to hang a winch on the front of my truck, i've been thinking about uprated torsion bars to compensate for the weight, rather than just tweaking them back up to the original height, any opinions or experiences would be welcome. if a change is recommended, how much of a fight do they put up to get the old ones out?

Just make sure the front end is completely off the ground when you take the adjuster bolts out.The t/bars can be a sod to fit tho as in tight as hell.I fitted some on my old 2.4 and they were a nightmare to do but others have said they weren't so bad.Just give everything a good lube up a few days beforehand and you shoulf be ok
The old bars come out easy enough its just getting the new ones in that i found the pain

cheers for that, know all about making sure the front end is fully of the ground the hard way, snapped an adjusting bolt when adjusting the height with the truck on the ground and me under it! nearly **** self, luckily with a 4" lift there was plenty of room underneath.

tbh i would just crank up the originals first and see how it is with them before spending on new t/bars

that was the plan, it's just there's a set on ebay for about £50 all in! could have done with them being for sale in a couple of months when i'd know if i wanted them, although they'd probably appear just after i'd paid full wack for a set.
