Who's Good at diagnosing Noises from a surf???

i have a strange noise coming from around the passenger footwell underneath.

sounds like hammer drill, into soft stones..... and it varies with speed, in 2wd its very bad but eases off in 4wd....

and steering lock is alot less now than it was.....

I would Hazard a guess at the drive shaft,? or associated parts.

my line of think as well, i lay under it last nite and gently wiggled anything i could grab but no play ah well.... this is not something i think i'll be able to diagnose, i think its off to my favorite Lithuanian mechanic Rokas....

You can try jacking up the front passenger side, and see if there is alot of movement in the wheel, bearings etc,

Take the jack out of its cubby hole, see if that helps.

put the jack under the front cross member then jack then jack the front up
