  • Whining Noises!

Has anyone out there experienced a wierd whining noise from the front left dash area while idling / driving.

The noise is totally intermittent and does not whine in time with revs or aircon fans - sometimes its there and sometimes its not but no pattern at all!

Sounds like its behind the glove box but can be heard under the bonnet also at the back of the bulkhead!

Does the whining sound like 'your driving to fast', 'leave a bigger gap' etcetc. if so I think I know what it is!

Yes it is directly behind the glovebox. Might be an idea to have a look as a trapped leaf can make some wierd noises.

Thanks guys - its a wierd one!

It doesn't change speed or make noise when the fans on at all....

I must get inside the bonnet and get someone to drive around!

I don't get those whining noises from the passenger side anymore like i did in my Subaru! She got used to bracing herself and keeping quiet - the truck seems somewhat sedate now!

I'll have to record it next time i'm out in it and put it on the forum!!
