  • Hood/bonnet lift, increase airflow.

I've decided that i will be doing a "hood lift" on my 2nd gen surf this week. the only question i have, is how big can my spacers be? i want to go as big as i can with the hood still fitting properly, this is just temporary, until the weather gets a little cooler than +30c outside, or i get my cowl induction hood or vents.

    Vents would be better.
The outside air intake is at the base of the screen, so raising the hood at the hinges will let all that hot air into the cab.

it's just going to be temporary until i find a set of vents i like, most of the vents that i find for sale are just fake stick on ones. wouldn't lifting the hood be the same as a cowl induction scoop thou? do u get hot air in your cab from your scoop?

Did mine as a tempopry fix last year as its hot over here. http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/sh...ad.php?t=48371 works just fine and doesnt seem to heat the cab up (well its roasting anyhow) & doesnt look that bad .... i think i raised mine about an inch (or just under) and the only drama that i had was having to make a water run off cover for the wiper motor as suggested by someone else on here (sorry cant remember the name now). All in all its good but the cooler is the next step http://toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite/performance.htm. Hope this helps
The sh$t gets deeper ...but still swimming
