  • Rear Springs

About 5 years ago I fitted Milners 20% stronger springs to my Surf to cure the usual rear end sag and to help towing the caravan. Yesterday, when very slowly starting to back off a grass car park there was a loud metalic bang. Thought we'd hit something but couldn't see anything behind, so carried on. About 3 miles on, went round a tight roundabout and heard something fall off. Parked up as soon as possible to check underneath but couldn't see anything obvious.

Got home and gave it a good check over and found the o/s/r spring had snapped at the bottom coil, loosing about 4-5 inches of the coil. It didn't effect the ride home, but as I'm going to be towing the van away shortly I need to replace it. Having suffered a failure I'm not going to trust the Milners springs again but am going with Roughtrax +2. Having checked with them today I'm told (not Barry) that the +2 springs will work OK with standard OE shocks. Has anyone run these with standard length shocks and found any problems?

    Thanks

    Hi Tallyman,

    I've had R.T. +2" + 20% springs on for while now
and not had any problems at all, and OK when towing.
    Hope this helps

    Gman.
If it aint broke, keep goin' till it is.

Thanks Gman. I take it you are using them with the original standard length shocs?
