rear axel & diff transplant??

Hi there surf fans. I believe the 3rd gen models are lucky enough to have electronic locking differentials factory fitted and I might be lucky enough to get the rear axel and diff housing from a KZN185 3.0TD. I have seen links about fitting the diff housing to your existing axel but can the axel and diff housing from KZN185 3.0TD fit onto a LN130 2.4TD has any one attempted this transplant? Also will it work for the front?

A locker in the axle is a rare option on the 3rd gens. Rocking horse shit springs to mind in fact.

They have a centre locking diff. Which when locked behaves exactly the same as a 2nd gen in 4wd. When unlocked alllows the front and rear props to turn at different speeds so preventing transmission wind up using 4wd on the road.

thanks for the update, i was under the impression that apart from changing the transfer case to an open diff with the option to lock i thought they also did it to the front and rear but i see i have been mislead!

damn toyota they put it in the landcruser!
