motor whizzing not much else doing, read a post about screwing and glueing
the motor. The poster placed pictures on the thread but there not there ?

can the window be in the down position when fitting the new motor ?

it can, but it's a lot easier with it up, just gives you a bit more room to work.
I'd do it from inside the boot of the truck, once the old motors out you can push the window up from the bottom, and then put a screwdriver or similar through one of the holes in the mechanism to lock it in place, while you fit the new motor.

open tailgate then close latches at sides with a screwdriver and the window opens and closes as if the tailgate was shut,,,if you get stuck next time all window motors are the same just the connecting block needs moddifying
