  • Coolant.

    Hello.
Can anyone tell me why some people say that when changing the coolant, i should use like for like, i.e. if the old coolant is blue, i should replace it with blue or if it comes out green i should put green back in? Surely if you drain out the old stuff, what does it matter what you put back in as long as it's proper designated coolant? Can anyone shed any light? Ta FNB.

Technically yes, it's OK to replace with whats already in there or similar. The only anti-freeze you should not mix with any other is Toyota red type.

If you have fully drained and flushed the cooling system, then you can use any recommended type for your vehicle. As Bushwacker says though, don't mix anything else with the Toyota Red coolant.
