  • Lift bolts..??

    Do we need to use high tensile steel bolts for the 2" body lift..??

    Got the nylon blocks..just sourcing bolts now.

      don't cut corners on the blots, it might mean the body falling off on a corner.

          I think M10 is standard an M12 is recommended for larger body lifts.


          M8 might not be ideal mate.

            M8's are too small. Standard are M10 fine but you will struggle to find some longer ones, so either go with M10 coarse or drill the washers and rubber mounts to take M12's.
            Also 12.9 grade is too hard, you need to be using 8.8 grade bolts. 12.9's are cap heads and can snap under shock loading, you need softer bolts to allow for a bit of give.
            Dont be tempted to buy the ones in B&Q either, those are unstamped and are typically 4.6 grade - ie chocolate.

              Cheers for the info..

              Deffo wouldnt be going B&Q for them.

              I have 8.8 coach bolts in work..bet id struggle tightening them tho..will pop to the engineers in the morning and see what they have.
