  • Cam belt tensioner bolts

Just about to re-fit my timing belt tensioner, but I've noticed the new bolts from Roughtrax are different to the ones I took off. The new ones have shoulder things on them, one a bit longer than the other, the one with the longer shoulder is threaded all the way up. I also have a bolt retaining washer, where do they go?

I think the bolt with the bigger shoulders goes at the op and the little one at the bottom. Can any of you confirm this?

I can't remember the finer details of bolt type, length etc but they should only fit oneway. The bolt with the longest unthreaded section will be for bearing centre. The round hole and the elongated hole in the tensioner bracket are probably a different size.

    Maybe the diagram will help.

I put the bolt that was threaded all the way up in the top hole, the other one in the bottom slot. The pinch bolt in the centre is a different size and is the only one that actually tightens anything, the other 2 only locate and allow the tensioner to pivot.
