  • Rear window sticking

I've changed my rear window motor and when the tailgate is down it works perfectly. However when the tailgate is closed I can close the window but it wont go down seems to be sticking on one side and the only way to get it down is to take the motor off again. The window goes up and down smoothly with the motor off if pushed by hand but every time I put the motor back on it sticks again looks like its just trying to open on the drivers side. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

When the tailgate is up, where is the window sticking, try some silicone lubricant (halfords) and spray plenty on window rubbers.
The tail gate may be out of line, has the truck ever had a rear bump?

The bottom runners on window may have come adrift, you would need to see if one is pulling away.

Thanks KERRSURF. Managed to get it to go down by operating the key and pulling down with a suction cup. Gave it a good dose of silicon lube works great now.
