I posted a few weeks ago, that I had intermittent problems starting in "Park" and had to move to "Neutral".
Then I had problems starting in "Neutral".
I felt that moving the gear stick helped.
I got a £200+ quote from Toyota for a new inhibitor switch and was prepared to disconnect it, rather than replace it.
My little local garage chap, was given the job to clean it, if that didn,t work, disconnect it.
As he wasn,t very busy, he chased down the wiring system and did checks all along the connections back to the starter motor.
He found out that there was an intermittent fault, with the Importer fitted Immobiliser.
He has disconnected it and it now works perfectly.
He did comment that it was about the cheapest one on the market...........what a surprise.
All I have to do now is locate a GOOD, CHEAP Immobiliser for him to fit.
If anybody else get "Inhibitor Switch problems", I suggest you check out the Immobiliser.
