I decided to remove the "SURF" decals on the bottom of both my passengers doors.
You know the ones, small, inoffensive and grey/silver in colour.
The were tatty, scraped, 16 years old and as I don't surf and never did I thought I'd get rid.
Anyhoo!
One came off a treat and the other, my GOD what a palaver!
It seemed as if somebody a laquered over it at one time.
I was left with a raised lip spelling "surf" and very, very visible!
The paintwork looks shitty so I tried some wet 1200 emery paper.
Nope, I now had a dull, shitty paintwork left!
I tried Farecla 10, T Cut and Scratch remover on a drill all to no avail.
I have succeeded in getting down to the primer in a few places, eeeeek!
What a bummer, all I wanted to do was remove the ###### things!!!!!!
I am now going to have to get a proper touchup done or get new decals to cover the frikin mess up!
Lessons Learned:
Surf stickers are coniving #######s!
Never spray over a sticker with laquer, to the person that did - You are a dick!
Apache, have you got any of your lovely decals for this spot mate?
