  • Argh! Changed Rad and now I have a water leak?!

    This is my first post about my first truck so excuse my ignorance of any info I should include.

    I just bought this truck last week (1990 Japanese import 2.4L Turbo Diesel) and it has a pin hole in the top of the rad so I got a replacement off of a mate and my step dad fitted it (I know I should have done it myself but I work too much and don't have much time!).

    After the engine warms up it starts to leak but I can't see where it's coming from, the expansion bottle says it's over filled and I think that's because he wanted to make sure there was enough in there so it didn't blow the head gasket or anything but I don't know if there was a valve anywhere to let the extra out and it's not really a problem?

    Top of the rad and the expansion bottle are dry and I can't see anything from the main bottom pipe but the water is literally p**sing out and I can't see where it's coming from.

    After being off for 5 mins it cools down and stops which is why I didn't know about this over filled thing.

    Anyone got any ideas or shall I park it at my step dad's agin and get him to have a look?
