Autobox Gearlever

I can't get my KZN130 into gear, foot on brake, gear selecter knob pushed in and it won't budge. I can select gear by pushing the mystery red button in, but it's a bit of a pain using two hands to get going.

Anyone know if its likely to be a switch on the brake or some cable slack that needs taking up?

Ta, I'll give that a go, thinking if its an electrical switch I probably should have mentioned that the batteries are flat as a witches proverbial.
