                So...

                A 3.0 front diff is, I believe, a G294; 8", 4.100, 4 pinion open.

                A 2.4 front diff is G144; 8", 4.875, 4 pinion open.

Is the 2.4 gearing higher or lower than the 3.0? As I need a front diff I'd like to lower my gearing for the 33" tyres but I can't get my head round it.????

Gearing is all different on any given truck, plus the code only tells you the rear diff's pinion and LSD arrangment. (but all front diffs on Surfs are 2 pinion and open anyway, you only need to know the diff ratios and if it has a LSD in the rear)

We have 4.8's to go in Linda's truck on 33's. 4.1's where rubbish on the motorway and towing, 4.5's are OK, we have then in ATM as a stop gap and might be better if you don't tow as PRM will be slightly lower than 4.8's. But 4.5's and 4.1's with 33's make our truck noticabily slower pulling away, and on long hills on the motorway.
