    i have managed to get a case of millers high synthetic oil XSS 5w30 (4x5 ltr)

    i have done an oil change using it and all seems well
    i am of course worried it may be a little too thin
    whats your views guys
    p.s.
    i payed £20 for the case
    at the end of the day................ it gets dark

    Wouldnt use it in summer but it will aid for better cold starting and protection first thing.

    Long term I use summer= 15-40 semi
    Winter = 10-40 semi

    I have had best results with these viscosities

      There is a list of recommended oils depending on ambient air temp, I think it,s on Matt's site, but it may be in the FAQ's on this site.

      I'd also say it's a bit thin, unless you live in the north of Scotland

        I have just got all the gear to do a service from Toyota.
        The bloke said that they recommend 5-30 semi.
        Now I am confused.
        Live the dream.......

          Its because toyota at the moment have an enormous amount of 5-30w oil i was asking at the last dealership i visited, it comes in a mazda bottle and is for a diesel particulate filter. Its cheap enough but i woulndt trust its integrity under load on such an agricultural typr engine.
