ATF check

When checking the atf level i know that your supposed to have engine running and warm, my question is how warm is sufficent to get a accurate reading ?
I drove for 4/5 miles today and come home to check but the atf was not that warm / hot ...do i need to a lot more miles before checking it ?
Have had a search on here for more info, but to no avail

i just make sure my truck is up to running temp and then foot on the break and move the gear selector to/fro a few times then check the levels
