I know there not the most accurate in the world but can anyone shine some light this.
When truck has been parked up for half hr and say it shows half fullon the guage , then when i start her up and drive it seems to drop by quite a bit very quickly

    thats the 20mpg...

how do you mean drop? does it dip then come back to normal, or does it just go down quickly to empty and stay there because it is actually empty?

if its the 2nd, then check for leaks. dont bother checking for leeks though, because even though there has been some speculation, i dont think its anything to be worried about.

if you cannot find anything wrong, then use some injector cleaner so it sprays better to get some more mpg.. i get about 24 on veg on a normal day :/
    Oh Nana, what's my name?

Is the place you park flat?

My drive is steep in places and causes the gauge to read low if I drive in or high if I reverse in.

The gauges read all over the place depending on where they're parked, then go to the true level when the engine's running.

With uneven ground filling them can be a hit and miss affair too

I get a difference of 5 litres minimum depending on how Hippo is parked, you can get more in with the passenger front wheel downwards - ie facing downhill leaning to the left is best.

I woulsn't worry to much, mine reads anything it wants (and I do mean anything) until it reaches halfway, after that it's accurate to empty.

Just think of it as character, and reset the trip after every fill up as back up.
