    1992 SSR-X 2.4 td

I fitted a new front shocker with suspension set at normal, and wanted to know if the new shocker was set to normal before fitting to ensure that all are the same.
Would it be obvious if they were set differently?
Toyota dealer could not provide further info.

There is also oil seepage at joints in air intake pipes before turbo, engine suffering from back pressure. I have read about head problems on this site and am wondering if it could be valve guide seals rather than worn rings. Has anyone recond an engine and have an approximate cost of required materials.

    Any info appreciated thanks Paddy.

My surf has adjustable shockers only at the rear!
I would guess the Toyota replacements are standard non adjustable types and the setting is irrelavant to the front shox!!

the TOYOTA adjustable shocks are dear to replace @ around £180 each so ive heard. procomp es series shocks are around £33 each none adjustable but certainly do the job, i wouldnt worry about normal setup as the switch once played with should set the shock up to be same as others.

        Thank's
Front shockers have the remote solenoid type adjuster which fits over the top of the insert and it was £140 +vat which as mentiond wasn't cheap!
Does the cylnder head problem mainly apply to cracking due to overheating? in which case I shall tell Jo to keep an eye on the temp gauge and points towards worn cylnders

Must disagree with you there Marky, If the system is full of coolant as it should be the gauge works perfectly well. Mine, after clogging the rad with mud went up to a little over 3/4 on the gauge, (as has a few others on here) slowed down, down went the gauge.
The problem with is with the sender, it sits so high under the rad cap that if you have 1" to little coolant in the system then the sender sits in air then the only time it moves is as a little coolant expands past it to the bottle the needle moves, then no more coolant, needle moves back to normal.
Also if it never goes above half way then thats good, isn't it.

Yeah, the temp guage in the grey surf went up to 3/4 before I noticed when it ran out of water. So it definatly works.
