  • Glow Plug Fuse

Hi I've just been reading the post by pabloo on 21st Feb and the problem seems to be identical to mine - about 20 seconds turning over before it will start. I'm fairly sure the battery is ok as it eventually goes and all my glow plugs are new - so I will treat myself to a new glow plug fuse at the weekend.

Any idea where to get it from can I just go to halfords and I gather fitting it is just like any other fuse ( I never take anything for granted with my surf)

    Thanks Julie

    Julie.

You'll need to get it from Toyota, Halfords won't do them. Fitting is a bit more complicated than a normal fuse as you need to unbolt the Fusebox from the inner wing, turn it over (with much cursing) and then undo the bolts that hold the fuse in from underneath. You can then remove the fuse from above, replace with a new one and bolt it in from underneath. Then turn the fusebox back over and refit to the inner wing.

    Cheers

Also think Milners do them, one thing to be aware off, when you unbolt the fuse one side is live so be careful when you undo it you don't short it out on anything else. Unless you disconnect the battery first of course.
Take cover off fuse box and you can see the fuse, a visual check will tell if its blown.

You can get the fuse you need from your local Partco branch, they sell them for around £5.
        Cheers Steve.
