  • Tyre/wheel air conectors

    Hi all
Finally truck came out of garage on probation.
Went to tyre centre and had four nice new boots fitted.
One minor problem! The valve housing on my wheels are made of metal and are screwed in place by rear nuts. I would have liked new blow up bits but have had to settle for the old ones.
Can I buy new ones? Modifiy my wheels to suit the parts in tyre centres?
Or is this a very common problem with a simple solution.

Metal valve stems can be fitted to any wheels, altough some (certain Jags for example) wheels are designed specially for use with bolt in stems.
If you have original wheels on your surf they you can change them or retain the bolt in ones.
Rather than change them however, you should simply put new cores in them. The solid stems can't perish and won't get ripped by sharp rocks etc when off-roading, they're an upgrade over standard spec so why not keep them?
