cruise problem

hi fellow surfers
just wondreing if anyone had come across this one, when cruise acivated all is fine until i switch on the lights then cruise switches off, or if lights already on cruise will not engage. anyone any ideas before i start to rip the wrong apart! any suggestions welcomed.
