Hi Gang,
You just know you guys have heard it all before about the rear tailgate window motor but here's a different slant for you.
Cut a lond story short, read every post i could find on here about how to do this and I found getting to old motor out very easy indeed.
Now this is the rub - I found a local Jap car spare seller close to me called Innnercity Motor Spares, Beeston, Nottingham and the sold me a passenger door electric window motor for £20. They had even taken it out of what they said was a 1994/5 Corolla (My surf is a 1995).
Got it home this arvo and decided to tackle the job straight away. Whiped the old motor out of my tailgate and went to see how to fit the new one and when I popped the little silver aloy cap off the drive gear I descovered that the drice gear was a quite beefy looking square jobby and not a cog in sight.
Am I missing something here or have i just been sold the wrong motor?
I have taken some low res pics with my moby phone which I wil try to attach to this post so I hope that it works.
Footnote: cant upload images for some reason - they are only small 53kb JPEG's but the forum just wont allow me to up them.
If anyone wants to have a look then I'd be more than happy to e-mail them over.
As always, thanks for the help.
