seeing im keeping the red peril another year i thought i would change the brake fluid and the gearbox oil ready for the planned euro disney trip
so my questions are
brakes . . . . do i just buy one of those bleed kits with the valve and drain then refill the fluid & do i need to do all 4 bleed nipples so i know ive removed all the old fluid? never tried this before so dont have a clue
gearbox
it says i need 4.5 ltrs of dexron 2 atf fluid is this enough for a FULL renew?
can i just crack open the g/box sump plug and allow to drain out ?
then get the wife to stand there 2 hours refilling through the dip tube?
ive seen the thread on cracking both pipes that go into the rad but am not really confident about doing it that way i mean do you have to remove half the front end to do it? how easy is it to get to the conections?
bearings
i had a noisey n/s bearing and had it adjusted up about a month ago
its noisey again so am going to change the pair ie both front wheels
ive read the thread on here and may give it a try but am worried i will overtighten or even undertighten
the comment of "tighten up then slacken off a bit" fills me with dread
is there a torque setting to tighten to then to slacken off to?
and it says use about 450 gram of grease is that per wheel or for the pair of wheels as ive noticed it says dont overfill or the seal will pop
thanks in advance guys but please bear in mind that im no mechanic and tend to worry whether ive forgoten to put things back on correctly
