  • Fuel Pump Seals?

    Hi,

My fuel pump has started $$$$ing fuel since I started going 50/50 on veg oil.

(With me, anything that can go wrong, always does!)

Anyone know how many 'O' Rings I need to get to completely renew a 2.4 EFI Fuel Pump (Denso)?

I know Milners do a kit but I want to change them "all" when I have the pump out to save future problems.

Also, do I need a new gasket or anything else?

Can these 'O' Rings be sourced anywhere else or just Milners?

I read a few threads that said B&Q sell them in a big assorted bag but are these suitable?

    Cheers!

    Gary

If it's just the top seal it can be done in-situ (in the milner kit) and you will also need a o ring for the sensor (not in the kit). I have had the o rings done under the timing covers (also not in the milners kit), this cured my leak BUT it meant taking out the pump...........This is a cambelt out job . Also when you are in there check the water pump is not leaking.

The next step is to send the pump to a diesel specialist for a refurb ( about £200)

Mine's started to leak, but NOT the top seal, means pump out and off for refurb
Have filled up with diesel & no veg, has stopped the leak for now, but sure it will be back

That depends where it is leaking from

You can get a new 300 series pump (for the EFI)from Oz for about £200.00 brand new, might be cheaper in the long run.

Legendmaster fitted one, works well he said
