I am ready to fit an Ebay ATF cooler to my 2nd gen 3.0 litre SSR-X. I've researched all the threads about this and have a fair idea how to go about it. Can someone just confirm in simple language which of the existing cooler pipes is the flow to the radiator from the gearbox, and which is the return? Is it best to change the ATF in the autobox at the same time? Seems sensible. TIA.

From memory when I did mine, the pipe going to the o/s side of the rad is the flow. The pipes that usually come with the kits are quite a tight fit on the original feed and return pipes, although getting them on to the rad pipes was easier.
Have a look on here for suggestions how to properly change the ATF fluid. I think the best method it to run the old stuff into a bucket whilst using a separate bucket full of new fluid with the return pipe stuck in it so that the old is pumped out and the new sucked in to replace. Once you see clean new fluid being pumped back out again then stop and reconnect all the pipework and job done.Mike G

Finally got round to fitting ATF cooler today. Doddle! After researching on this site, it couldn't have been easier. Found that it was unnecessary to remove sidelights and grille-hey ho. The shorter rubber pipe is the ATF feed to the in-rad heat exchanger-the longer one is the return.
Unable to change ATF fluid as suggested-old fluid pumped out OK but new fluid not drawn up into gearbox from bucket. Had to resort to pouring new fluid down dipstick hole, but not so difficult as I imagined using funnel from kitchen, a piece of spare oil hose and a left over fitting from the installation pack.
Thanks to all posters over time who have contributed knowledge to forum on this topic.
