I've just started a thread on the Aussie forum and would like some feed back if you guys have any info that would help. It's about 3L head replacement on the 2.4s and which gasket to use. If you have done the conversion I would like info on which gasket (part number if possible) you used and if you know of any differences between the various gaskets available.

    Thanks
    Nev

3L is the engine code for the 2.8 engine.

3 is the generation, L is the family

2.4s are 2LTE (second generation, L type, turbo, EFI)

3.0s are 1KZTE (first generation, KZ type, turbo, EFI)

In short Richard, yes, you're right. The 'modified' 2.4 head is just the standard 2.8 head. Preusumably the updating of the design happened during the change from 2nd the 3rd generation 'L' engine.

Hopefully any sensible suggestions will get posted on Nev's thread on the Aussie site.
