  • vibration on braking

I have a Toyota HI Lux 2.4 1992, Has anyone any suggestions why i am having vibrations on braking, seems to get worse after heavier braking. Have looked at disc but cannot see obvious warping, would appreciate any advice.

Check for play on wheel bearings and steering gear, double check discs, do you know when they were last changed?

look into the brake disc bolt holes, they may have come loose mate, if the disc is coming looe from the hub then whip it off and stick some standard 10mm bolts is, the toyota ones are m10x25 with a 14mm a/f head. but will take a standard m10x25 with a 17mm a/f head. worth putting new thread lock on them as well.

9 times out of 10 its warped discs, you can get it checked at a garage, they,ll put it on the brake rollers and tell you there and then. Its pretty cheap and easy to do.
