  • wine up the back!

    Hi all
I have a whine that is speed related that I want to try to locate, does anyone out there know how I can identify a wheel bearing from a diff from a UJ, I do know that a wheel bearing is on the wheel, the diff is............
but I think you know what I mean!
    any thoughts?
    Ta
and are rear wheel bearings sealed for life or do they require packing with grease - they appear to have plastic seals both sides - cant see the balls!
Did I mention I have a BLUE one

You can hear if it's a wheel bearing, as the rumble will be louder when cornering, and the noise will be there wether your on the gas or off.

Diff noise is more noticable at higher speeds, check the oil level, should be just below the filler plug hole.

U/Js tend to be clunky, especially when pulling away.
