  • Like a stone in a hub cap...

Hi all, whilst driving home last night I heard a very disturbing noise coming from my ns rear wheel, it was like a 'stone in a hub cap' kind of clanking. And as I was reversing into my spot, the noise was a scaping metal on metal! I did push the wheel back and forth and there was a bit of movement as well as cluncking!

That's the trouble with Surfs, they're so damn comfortable and sound proofed, as you're wafting along listening to your favourite toooons, you can't hear what's going on outside!

The weather is very wet outside so far, so I haven't had the chance to take the wheel off yet and investigate.

So what do people think it could be, brakes, bearing... or something more sinister?

I had the wheel off earlier but couldn't get the bloomin' drum off. Turning the drum I could feel clunking/tapping (call it what you will, but it wasn't smooth), through the drum, so I feel the bearing's errrm, knackered.

And then I sit and wonder, why now?
