just found a storage box under rear seat? and missing wires

Putting my Surf interior back together and I found a storage compartment under the rear passenger side, with a black metal lid - what's supposed to be in it? I thought perhaps the bottle jack but it doesn't quite fit right. Where's the long jack handle supposed to be stored?

Second thing, I'm refitting the headlining after some sunroof repairs (ages ago) and I was going to put the centre roof-light back in (not the front one with map lights, the single one in the middle of the vehicle) but there's no wire - where should it be? I can't see it hanging out of the side panels anywhere, and above it is the black plastic case of the sunroof, so I'm stumped as to where it has gone.....???? It's been over a year since I took it to bits and I can't remember if it even had a wire.

the bottle jack will go in there and the long handle sits in 2 plastic clamps on top of the carpet under the seats

The jack is supposed to be under the rear passenger seat.. It does fit, just!!

My jack handle is held in place under the back seats with some clips...

Thanks, I'll have a look at finding these clips for the jack-handle - I thought there would be some cunning place for it.

Now, if I can just locate the wires to the centre light the Surf will be almost back in working order.

Incidentally, what sort of bulb fits into the rear light above the tailgate? Removing the plastic cover shows no bulb and only a single connection (ie. just one contact at one end) - I would have thought it should have a contact at each end for the bulb to click in between?

Would anyone be able to post a small piccy of the inside of their tailgate light without the plastic cover on please? I think I may need to do some bodging to replace the missing contact.

its the same as the centre light mate, there should be contacts either end for the bulb.

its called a festoon bulb btw.

OK, thanks - my rear light is missing one of the contacts then, so some surgery (ie. bodging) is in order I think
