All you need is a simple water mister... to mist water onto the intercooler, like the rally spec Integrales used to do...

On men and motors tonight they were putting ice cubes on the top of the intercooler and shutting the bonnet.
                  It's only a hobby!

                    oooh, its chilly

this is my first Surf winter - I've noticed how much better it runs on cold days, which I never really noticed with any car before. Praps its because I am actually interested in this vehicle!

if mount the intercooler in front of the rad you'll get good airflow and you can upgrade to a huge one to make the charged air dencer. if you want to really go for it you can add aquamist. a mixture of methonol and water into the intake just before the trottle body. lowers intake temp, adds umph and cleans the internals

fit water/methanol injection after the intercooler

I have just been sat on my special thinking seat (the bog) and this has just popped into my head.

Could you not vent the air con over the intercooler? So instead of having the cold air blasting into the cab it is diverted over the intercooler.

Ice cold air would be a good cheap way of doing it but would the performance gained be lost by having the air con on?
